FAQ

Why did my session logged out while I was typing my Supporting Statement?

We recommend that you use a Word Document to type your Supporting Statement or any other information that may take some time to type. This way you can copy and paste the information into the required fields.

FAQ

Does County Dublin V.E.C. have a part time teachers panel?
County Dublin V.E.C. does not have a part time teachers panel. We recommend that you send a C.V. to the Schools/Centres you are interested in. They will keep your C.V. on file for the next Academic Year.

FAQ

Do I need to apply to the second Teaching advertisement if I have already applied to the first advertisement for the same VEC?

As Teaching Positions are advertised twice a year (usually April/March and July/August) there is no need to complete a second application form if you applied to the first advertisement.

If there is a new subject advertised in the second advertisement that you wish to apply for, you should complete a new application for this subject only.

FAQ

When applying for the Principal position in a National School I am asked for some information that I have not been asked before and I do not feel that it is relevant to the position. How do I complete the form?

The Application Form for all Principal positions is structured the same way.

National School applicants should enter N/A into any field that does not apply to them. For example, the subjects under Primary Degree should just be entered as N/A or not applicable as National School Degrees are not structured this way.

There are also two questions asked regarding Specific Skills - such as Communication Skills and Management, Leadership and Organisational Skills, these are not required for this position so applicants should enter N/A in these fields also.

Applicants for National Schools should be aware that entering N/A in these two boxes will not affect the shortlisting process as it is not a requirement for this particular position.

FAQ

Why is the information I entered in my application form not there when I go back to look at it?

This may be because the information you entered was not saved. If you navigate through the application form using the numbered tabs at the top of the application form then you may loose the information you have entered.

Information entered on each page is saved when you click the 'Next' button on the bottom right of the screen. You should ensure that you are using this method when entering information and only use the numbered tabs to navigate through the application after you have saved (i.e. clicked 'Next' or 'Save & Return Later').

FAQ

Why is my application form not saving the schools or subjects that I have ticked?

This may be due to the web browser you are using. While this website can be viewed on different web browsers, not all browsers fully support the functions of this website.

If you experience this problem firstly log out and close the browser. Sometimes when you log back in again this problem has fixed itself.

If that does not work then your web browser does not support that function of this website. If possible please log on using Internet Explorer as all functions of the website are fully supported on this browser.
